Gurudwara Lohgarh Sahib, Distt. Moga
Gurudwara Lohgarh Sahib, also known as Gurudwara Dina Sahib, is located in Dina village, about 15 km south of Nihal Singh Wala in the Moga district of Punjab. The Gurudwara is situated along the Barnala-Nihal Singh Wala road, a well-maintained single metal road. It lies 6 km from Salatwatpura, 12 km from Nihal Singh Wala and 13 km from Bhadaur.
In December 1705, after evacuating Anandpur Sahib, Guru Gobind Singh Ji arrived in Dina and stayed for a few days. He was warmly welcomed and served with devotion by Chaudhari Shamir and Lakhmir, grandsons of Rai Jodh, the local chief who had fought alongside Guru Hargobind Ji in the Battle of Mehraj (December 1634). Guruji also enlisted several Brar Sikh warriors during his stay.
One of the most significant events at this site was the composition of the Zafarnama—a letter written in Persian by Guru Gobind Singh Ji to Emperor Aurangzeb. The letter, meaning “Epistle of Victory”, was sent through Bhai Daya Singh Ji and Bhai Dharam Singh Ji, two of the Panj Piaras. While the place mentioned in Zafarnama is Kangar, which is 2 km south of Dina, the commemorative shrine here is revered as Gurudwara Lohgarh Sahib.
The Gurudwara hosts daily prayers and major Sikh celebrations, including the Prakash Divas of Guru Nanak Dev Ji and Guru Gobind Singh Ji. A grand religious fair is held annually on Maghi (January 13-14), attracting devotees from across Punjab.
