Gurudwara Sri Guru ki Wadali is situated in the Village Guru ki wadali in Amritsar district. Its only 8 km from Amritsar city. Guru Har Gobind Sahib, The sixth Guru of the sikhs was born on June 14,1595 at Village wadali, after which it was named as Guru ki wadali. Gurdwara Sri Guru Ki Wadali was the location of the home of Sri Guru Arjan Sahib Ji and his family. Guru Arjan Sahib Ji stayed here for about three years during 1594 to 1597. Gurdwara Sri Guru Ki Wadali is also known as Gurdwara Sri Janam Asthan Guru Hargobind Sahib as Sri Guru Hargobind Sahib Ji was born at this place. While Guru Arjan lived at Guru Ki Wadali he educated the Sikh sangat, some of which settled in Guru Ki Wadali and carried out a number of irrigation projects as there was local water shortages.
