Gurudwara Pehli Patshahi at Chawli Masaekh, Burewala

Gurudwara Pehli Patshahi at Chawli Masaekh is a place of deep historical and spiritual significance. Local tradition and belief hold that Guru Nanak Dev Ji, the first Guru of Sikhism, meditated at this very spot. This is why the local people still respectfully refer to it as “Tapasthan Guru Nanak” – a place of devotion and meditation by Guru Nanak. Its connection to the founder of the Sikh faith makes it an important pilgrimage site for Sikhs. The Gurudwara is also noteworthy for its proximity to the Mazaar (tomb) of Diwan Haji Sher Mohammad, located just half a kilometer away. This shared historical landscape underscores the rich and intertwined spiritual heritage of the region.

Historically, the care and maintenance of Gurudwara Pehli Patshahi were the responsibility of an Akali Singh sevadar, a dedicated Sikh volunteer. However, in a beautiful display of interfaith harmony, the Gurudwara is currently looked after by a Muslim family. This arrangement highlights a unique example of shared guardianship and respect for holy places across different faiths in the area.

How to Reach

The Gurudwara is situated in Chak No. 317 EB, which is located on the Burewala-Sahoki road. This rural setting is about half a kilometer from the Mazaar of Diwan Haji Sher Mohammad.

By Road (Bus): The most straightforward way to reach the Gurudwara is by bus. Buses that travel from Burewala Railway Station towards Sahoki will typically pass through Chak No. 317 EB. You can ask the bus conductor or driver to drop you off near Chak No. 317 EB or the Gurudwara, as it’s a known landmark.

By Car/Taxi: If traveling by private car or taxi, you can set your navigation to Chak No. 317 EB on the Burewala-Sahoki road. The Gurudwara is a recognizable landmark in the area. Burewala is a major town in the Vehari District of Punjab, Pakistan, and well-connected by roads.

By Air: Multan International Airport (MUX) is generally the closest and most convenient major airport, located approximately 120-130 km west of Burewala. It offers flights to various domestic and international destinations.
