Bhaike Mattu is a village located about 2 kilometers southeast of the Nowshera Virkan Police Station in Tehsil Gujranwala. Just before the entrance to the village stands Gurudwara Khara Sahib, a sacred site associated with Guru Hargobind Sahib Ji, the sixth Guru of the Sikhs.

During Guru Hargobind Ji’s stay in the village, an incident occurred that left a lasting impression on the sangat. A man approached Guru Ji after respectfully bowing, but his yellowed moustaches revealed his habit of smoking. When Guru Ji asked for his name, the man replied, “Hargobind.” Guru Ji gently admonished him, saying, “You carry the name of Hargobind and still indulge in smoking?” The man immediately gave up the habit, sought forgiveness, and became a devoted follower of the Guru.

The Gurudwara building is visually striking, featuring black and white tiled floors and floral artwork on the walls and ceiling. Several plaques commemorate the contributions of individuals who helped restore and maintain the structure, with inscriptions noting its construction in Samvat 1990. In earlier times, a fair was held here annually on the 7th of Saawan.
