Gurudwara Charan Paduka Patshahi Pehli te Nauvin – Nizamabad
Gurudwara Charan Paduka Patshahi Pehli te Nauvin is located in a small town in Azamgarh district. It connects to Serai Rani via an 8-kilometre link road and to Phariha by another 6-kilometre road. Both Serai Rani and Phariha are railway stations on the Ballia-Shahganj metre gauge section of the North-Eastern Railway. The Gurudwara marks the site where Guru Nanak Dev Ji visited during his eastern Udasi in the early 16th century and Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji passed through in 1670 during his journey back to Punjab.
The shrine, originally called Charan Paduka (wooden sandals), was maintained by Udasi priests until Bawa Kripa Dayal Singh of Goindwal established a proper Gurudwara here. He settled in Nizamabad to preach Sikhism, making the site a well-known Sikh missionary center. His son Sadho Singh and grandson, the renowned scholar and poet Bawa Sumer Singh, further strengthened its legacy. Today, the gurudwara houses a pair of wooden sandals, one used by Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji and fourteen old handwritten copies of the Guru Granth Sahib. The Gurudwara has been renovated and is managed by the successors of Sant Sadhu Singh Mauni.
