Guru Ki Dhab

Gurudwara Shri Patshahi Dasvin, also known as Guru Ki Dhab, is located in the village of Guru Ki Dhab (Mata) in the Kotkapura Tehsil of Faridkot District. You can find it along the Kotkapura-Jaito Road.

This sacred place holds a significant story from the time of Shri Guru Gobind Singh Ji. Legend has it that Guru Ji visited this spot and sat with his followers, known as the sangat. During this visit, a spirit named Ussain Khan Mian emerged from a nearby tree and bowed down before Guru Sahib. When Guru Ji recognized him and called him by name, Listening his name from SHRI GURU GOBIND SINGH JI he was very happy. He expressed his happiness, saying that i am very happy to have glimpse of you, i was waiting for from long time

Guru Sahib explained that Ussain Khan was a martyr, or Shaheed, who, for some unknown reasons, had been stuck in the cycle of life and death. However, on that day, thanks to the blessings of Guru Ji, he was finally freed from this cycle.

At this Gurudwara, there is also an eight-cornered pond, known as a Sarovar. Guru Sahib blessed this water, stating that anyone who takes a bath in the Sarovar will be liberated from the cycle of life and death. Furthermore, it is believed that individuals suffering from eighteen different ailments, referred to as “athrah diseases,” will find healing if they bathe in this sacred water.

This place is not only a site of historical significance but also a source of hope and healing for many who visit. The teachings and blessings of Guru Sahib continue to inspire and uplift the spirits of all who come here, making it a cherished location for the Sikh community and beyond.
