Gurudwara Chhevin Patshahi, Narali
The village of Narali is situated in P.S. Jatli of Tehsil Gujar Khan, Rawalpindi district, about six miles southwest of Daultala railway station. It is well connected by a metalled road from Gujar Khan and can also be reached from Mandra via Daultala. In this village stands Gurudwara Sri Guru Hargobind Sahib Ji, a sacred site associated with the Sixth Guru.
Guru Hargobind Sahib Ji stayed here while traveling from Mansehra, in response to the devotion and affection of Bhai Harbans Singh Ji’s father, who was a devoted Sikh of the Guru. Initially, the shrine was known as Tapa Harbans Ji, but over time it became renowned as Gurudwara Chhevin Patshahi.
The Gurudwara once had a magnificent veranda and a large sarovar (holy tank) located nearby. This tank was renovated on 15th Har Samvat 1986 (1 July 1929 AD) by Sardar Harnam Singh, Assistant Superintendent (Survey). A grand banyan tree still stands at the eastern corner of the tank, dating back to that era. Beneath this tree lies the samadh of Bhai Harbans Singh, built in the form of a small temple.
In later years, the sarovar dried up and shops were established in the rooms along the veranda. Today, a Kashmiri family resides inside the Gurudwara Sahib, though the site continues to hold deep historical and spiritual significance.
