Gurudwara Buraj Mata Gujri Ji
Gurudwara Buraj Mata Gujri, also known as Gurudwara Thanda Burj, is located in Sirhind. This sacred place is a witness to one of the most tragic and painful chapters in Sikh history. It was here that the younger Sahibzadas of the tenth Sikh Guru, Guru Gobind Singh Ji, Baba Fateh Singh Ji and Baba Zorawar Singh Ji, were imprisoned along with their grandmother Mata Gujri Ji.
The tower was known as Thanda Burj because it naturally remained cool during the summer. However, in an act of great cruelty, the enemies confined Mata Gujri Ji and the young Sahibzadas in this tower during the harsh winter, causing them immense suffering.
It was in this very tower that Mata Gujri Ji heard the heartbreaking news of the martyrdom of her two grandsons. Upon hearing this, she left for her heavenly abode. These events became a powerful symbol of unparalleled sacrifice and courage in Sikh history.
Later, Gurudwara Buraj Mata Gujri was constructed at this site. Today, the Gurudwara reminds devotees of the immense sacrifices made by Mata Gujri Ji and the younger Sahibzadas. It is not only a place of worship but also a sacred site where one of the most emotional chapters of Sikh history is forever remembered.

By Car: Sirhind is well connected by road. You can easily reach the Gurudwara by car or taxi from Fatehgarh Sahib, Patiala, Ludhiana and Chandigarh. The Gurudwara is located within the Fatehgarh Sahib complex, where several other historical Gurudwaras are also situated.
By Train: The nearest railway station is Sirhind Junction, which is about 2 km from the Gurudwara. From the station, auto-rickshaws and taxis are easily available to reach the site.
By Bus: Regular buses operate to Sirhind from cities such as Chandigarh, Patiala, Ludhiana and Ambala. The bus stand is located about 2 km from the Gurudwara.
By Air: The nearest airport is Chandigarh International Airport, which is approximately 55 km away. From the airport, you can hire a taxi or take a bus to reach Sirhind.
