Gurudwara Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur Sahib Ji, also known as Gurdwara Purbi Tola, is situated in Etawah, a district town about 125 kilometres southwest of Agra. The site is historically significant as Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji is believed to have visited here during his journey to the east in 1665-66 and may have stayed at this spot. The Gurudwara, located inside the town near the courts and the Kotwali (police station), is popularly known as Bari Sangat, meaning the larger congregation.

The shrine is presently managed by Udasi priests, and their form of worship reflects a blend of Hindu practices along with reverence for Sikh traditions. Guru Granth Sahib, printed in Devanagari script, is enshrined in a pavilion within one of the courtyards, where it is ceremoniously opened in the morning and respectfully closed in the evening, similar to the Maryada followed in Sikh Gurdwaras. A handwritten copy of Guru Granth Sahib in Gurmukhi script is also preserved here, though kept wrapped in a small room since the current priests are less familiar with the script. The Gurudwara remains open to visitors during the daytime and continues to be a reminder of Guru Ji’s travels and spiritual legacy.
