Gurudwara Sri Achal Sahib

Sri Achal Sahib Gurudwara, located near Batala in Punjab’s Gurdaspur district, is a revered site blessed by the presence of Guru Nanak Dev Ji. This sacred place holds deep spiritual significance for the Sikh community, as Guru Sahib visited here and left a lasting legacy.

Just before entering the Darbar Sahib, a historic tree stands as a testimony to Guru Nanak Dev Ji’s divine touch. It is believed that Guru Sahib planted a kikar tree here with his own hands. When the sangat expressed their wish for a fruit-bearing tree, Guru Sahib blessed it so that it would bear fruit throughout the year. According to tradition, the kikar transformed into a beri tree, and it continues to yield ber even today.

The Gurudwara also holds importance due to the visit of Guru Hargobind Sahib Ji, the sixth Sikh Guru. He stayed at this holy site during the wedding ceremonies of Baba Gurditta Ji, adding further spiritual value to the place.

Nearby stands the ancient Achaleshwar Temple, dedicated to the elder brother of Lord Ganesha. Historians note that this is the only temple of its kind in India, making it a significant cultural landmark closely linked to the Gurudwara complex.
