Gurudwara Shri Gani Khan Nabi Khan Sahib

In Machhiwara Sahib which is holy land touched by the feet of Sarbansdani Dashmesh Pita Shri Guru Gobind Singh Ji, Bhai Gani Khan and Nabi Khan came to know that Satguru Ji had came there and was staying at the Gulabe and Panjaba’s House(now known as Chubara Sahib) they both went to Satguru ji and requested to place their feet in their house to purify it.

Upon their request, Satguru Ji came to their house with these two brothers. When they arrived, Bhai Gani Khan and Nabi Khan noticed that the informants were moving around a lot. Therefore, they requested the true Patshah to wear blue clothes, as it would make it easier for them to serve him. At the order of Satguru Ji, Lalari (the dyer or colorist) was called and ordered to dye blue clothes for them. Lalari then requested Satguru Ji, explaining that the clothes can only be dyed in prepaerd matti (a large earthen pot), which takes 3 days once the color was put in.
Then Satguru Ji said, ‘Go and see if the matti has been prepared.’ When Lalari went and saw that the matti was already boiling with the proper dye in the water, he was astonished. Lalari was convinced that the Guru was a divine saint sent by God, and he decided to make a humble request.

So he dyed the clothes and presented them to Satguru Ji, standing with folded hands. When Satguru Ji was about to give a reward for the dyeing, Lalari humbly requested, ‘Satguru Ji, I am childless. Please bless me.’ At that moment, Satguru Ji replied, ‘You will be blessed abundantly.’ He made another request, saying, Satguru Ji, we are struggling to make ends meet. The money from dyeing the clothes is not enough to cover the expenses. Please bless us with your grace and kindness. Satguru Ji said, ‘The matti in which our clothes have been dyed, from today onward, no other color should be added to it. Whenever that Lalari dips the cloth into it, the cloth will be dyed with the color he has in mind. Keep the matti covered and do not reveal this to the general public.

Then Gani Khan and Nabi Khan requested, ‘We also have no children.’ Satguru Ji replied, ‘Your service has been accepted, and you will be blessed. Satguru Ji rested at this place for two days and two nights.Afterward, Satguru Ji was seated on a bed, which was carried by Gani Khan and Nabi Khan from the front, and Bhai Dharam Singh and Bhai Man Singh from the back. Thus, becoming a Pir, Guruji left this place on the night(before the day begins) of 22 Poh( tenth month in the Nanakshahi calendar).

Guru Ji proceeded towards Alamgir passing various significant places such as Gurdwara Kirpan Bhent Sahib, Gurdwara Katana Sahib, village Rampur, village Kanech.  Guru Ji reached Alamgir and blessed Bhai Gani Khan Nabi Khan and Issued a Hukamnama (commandment).
