Gurudwara Shri Bebe Nanaki Ji

Gurudwara Shri Bebe Nanaki Ji is a sacred historical shrine located in Sultanpur Lodhi, closely associated with Bebe Nanaki Ji, the elder sister of Sri Guru Nanak Dev Ji.  Nanaki Ji holds a special place in Sikh history as she was the first to recognize the divine light and spiritual greatness of Guru Nanak Dev Ji. After her marriage to Jai Ram Ji in 1475 CE,  Nanaki Ji settled in Sultanpur Lodhi. It was through her and her husband that Guru Nanak Dev Ji later came to Sultanpur, where he began working in the Modi Khana of Nawab Daulat Khan Lodhi. During his stay, Guru Ji spent significant time in spiritual reflection and meditation while also sharing the message of truth, devotion and equality with the local community. Bebe Nanaki Ji remained a constant source of encouragement and devotion and Sikh tradition remembers her as the first Sikh.

By Air: The nearest airport is Sri Guru Ram Dass Ji International Airport, Amritsar, located approximately 120 km away. Another option is Chandigarh International Airport, about 145 km from Sultanpur Lodhi. From both airports, you can hire a taxi or take a bus to reach Sultanpur Lodhi.

By Train: Sultanpur Lodhi has its own railway station, which is connected to cities like Jalandhar, Amritsar, and Firozpur. From the railway station, auto-rickshaws and taxis are easily available to reach the Gurudwara.

By Road: Sultanpur Lodhi is well connected by road. Regular buses and taxis are available from nearby cities such as Jalandhar (35 km), Kapurthala (26 km), and Amritsar (110 km). The town lies on the Kapurthala–Jalandhar–Firozpur road network.

By Private Vehicle: If you are traveling by car, Sultanpur Lodhi can be reached in about 1 hour from Jalandhar and around 40 minutes from Kapurthala. Parking facilities are available near the Gurudwara for visitors.
