Gurudwara Sehra Sahib, Bassi

    Gurudwara Sehra Sahib, on top of a hillock near Basi or Basantgarh village, one kilometre south of Guru ka Lahore in Bilaspur district of Himachal Pradesh, is a holy place dedicated to Guru Gobind Singh Ji. Because he halted here for a short time on his way to Guru ka Lahore for his marriage in 1677.

    According to tradition the Guru Ji donned his sehra (bridegroom’s floral headband) here. The Gurdwara is a square domed room with a circumambulatory verandah and it was constructed by Sant Seva Singh of Anandpur Sahib in 1962.

    • By Air: The nearest airport is Chandigarh (about 100 km away). From the airport, hire a taxi or take a bus to Bilaspur, then proceed to the Gurudwara Sahib.
