Gurudwara Nanaklama Sahib

    Gurudwara Nanaklama is located in Chungthang, Sikkim. It was established in 1969 by the Assam Rifles with the help of Tasa Tangey Lepcha, the MLA at that time. The Gurudwara was built to honor the teachings of Guru Nanak Dev Ji in the region.

    Since its creation, the Gurudwara has been managed by Baba Harbans Singh Ji, Baba Bachan Singh Ji and Baba Surinder Singh Ji, who are involved with the Dera Kar Sewa. The construction of the Gurdwara was also supported by the Assam Rifles Battalion, under the leadership of Subedar Major Bhullar.

    Today, Gurudwara Nanaklama stands as an important spiritual landmark. It unites both the local community and military personnel, preserving Sikh traditions in the region.

    • By Train: The nearest major railway station is in New Jalpaiguri (NJP), about 120 km from Chungthang. From NJP, you can take a taxi or bus to reach Chungthang and the Gurudwara.
    • By Bus: Buses are available from Gangtok and other cities in Sikkim to Chungthang. Once you arrive in Chungthang, you can take a short walk or hire a local taxi to the Gurudwara.
    • By Air: The nearest airport is Bagdogra Airport, around 125 km away from Chungthang. From the airport, you can hire a taxi to reach the Gurudwara.
