Gurudwara Nagiana Sahib

Gurudwara Nagiana Sahib, located in Udoke near Batala, Punjab, is a revered Sikh shrine with historical and spiritual significance. Sant Baba Chuggat Singh Ji established the Gurudwara and served as its first Sewadar. This sacred site is closely associated with the Nagi clan (Nagis) and holds importance as their Jathera, a traditional Punjabi ancestral worship site that transformed into a Gurudwara after the adoption of Sikhism.

Some sources mention that Guru Nanak Dev Ji stayed in Udoke for nine months and 26 days during his travels. It is also said that a devoted cobra, believed to have once shaded him, continued following him. Eventually, Guru Nanak Dev Ji asked the cobra to rest in Nagiana permanently, blessing the site with spiritual significance. Many devotees believe that those who visit Gurudwara Nagiana Sahib with true devotion will have their wishes fulfilled.

Presently, devotees gather on September 8 (Nagi Day) every year to participate in langar sewa and support various charitable initiatives, including helping underprivileged girls with their weddings. Therefore, Gurudwara remains a beacon of Sikh faith, unity and selfless service.
