Gurudwara Chhevin Patshahi, Bacche Distt-Hafizabad
The village of Bacche, a small settlement in the Hafizabad district of Pakistan, lies about 10 kilometers southeast of Kaleke. A connecting road from Hafizabad leads directly to the village.
Sri Guru Hargobind Sahib Ji once visited this village during his travels from Vinni. During his stay, Guru Ji organized spiritual diwans and shared the teachings of Sikhi with the local sangat. To commemorate this divine visit, a small Gurudwara was constructed, though over time, it has unfortunately fallen into a state of disrepair.
Adjacent to the Gurudwara stands the samadh of Bhai Bharti Das, a devoted Mahant. Bhai Bharti Das had the honor of meeting Sri Guru Gobind Singh Ji and presented Guru Ji with a magnificent horse. Deeply pleased by the offering, Guru Ji blessed Bhai Bharti Das with his own dastar and a handwritten copy of Guru Granth Sahib Ji. These sacred relics remained preserved at the site until the Partition in 1947. Pilgrims from far and wide would visit Bacche to pay respects and view these treasured relics.
In earlier times, large fairs were held in the village during Vaisakhi and Ekadshi, drawing devotees and visitors from surrounding regions. The Gurudwara was endowed with 110 squares of land, including 40 squares gifted by Maharaja Ranjit Singh specifically for the upkeep of the Langar Khana, ensuring free communal meals for all visitors.
Today, the memory of these events remains etched in local history, though the physical structures require restoration and care to preserve their spiritual and historical significance.
