Gurudwara Baher Sahib

Gurudwara Baher Sahib also known as Gurudwara Sahib Patshahi Nauvin is located in the village of Baher, along the Sirhind-Morinda Road, just 8 km from Fatehgarh Sahib and about 5 km from Bassi. This sacred site is associated with the visit of Guru Tegh Bahadur Sahib Ji, who arrived here from Nandpur-Kalaur while on his way to Dadu Majra and Bhagrana.

According to local tradition, as Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji rested in the village, he saw an elderly woman mourning beside the body of her only son. When Guru Ji asked what had happened, she tearfully explained that a malevolent spirit had taken her child’s life. Guru Ji consoled her and assured her that the child was merely asleep. He then sprinkled water over the lifeless body, and miraculously, the child came back to life. After this divine act, Guru Ji named the village Baher, and the evil spirit that had tormented the locals disappeared forever.

The Gurudwara commemorates this miraculous event and continues to draw devotees who come with faith in the Guru’s grace and spiritual power.
