Gurudwara Chaubara Sahib- Goindwal
Gurdwara Chaubara Sahib is located in Goindwal Sahib City within the Taran Taran District. It is situated near Gurudwara Shri Baoli Sahib. This site holds significant historical importance as it was the residence of Shri Guru Amar Das Ji, who blessed Bibi Bhani Ji, affirming that the Gur Gaddi would remain within the Sodhi lineage. Guru Amar Das Ji used to hold the Kili Sahib due to his old age. Notably, it is here that Guru Amar Das Ji bestowed the Gur Gaddi upon Guru Ram Das Ji. The site is also recognized as the Jyoti Jot Asthaan of both Guru Amar Das Ji and Guru Ram Das Ji, and it is the birthplace of Guru Arjan Dev Ji.
Tham Sahib, where Guru Arjan Dev Ji played in his childhood, Bibi Bhani Ji would prepare langar. The Palki Sahib is significant as it was used to carry Shri Guru Granth Sahib to Shri Harimandir Sahib. Additionally, Guru Arjan Dev Ji was born in this location in 1563, which served as the family home of Guru Amar Das Ji, the founder of Goindwal. Upon becoming Guru, he settled here following the guidance of Guru Amar Das. In the same house, Guru Ram Das was installed as Guru in 1574. Guru Amar Das Ji passed away in this location in 1574, and Guru Ram Das Ji followed in 1581. The site also houses sacred relics, including the sacred hairs and Chola Sahib of Guru Amar Das Ji, and serves as a place of remembrance for the significant events in the lives of these revered Gurus.
