Gurudwara Jand Sahib
Gurudwara Jand Sahib is a significant historical site linked to Guru Gobind Singh Ji, the tenth Guru of Sikhism. In 1704, after the fierce Battle of Chamkaur Sahib, where he witnessed the martyrdom of his two sons and thirty-five devoted Sikhs, Guru Ji left Chamkaur Fort at the request of the Panj Pyare.
During his journey, Guru Ji took a brief rest under a Jand tree. This peaceful spot, where Guru Ji rested, is now the site of a revered Gurudwara, a place of deep spiritual significance for Sikhs. After resting, Guru Ji continued his journey toward Gurudwara Jhar Sahib.
Gurudwara Jand Sahib, also known as Bir Guru, is located between the villages of Khanpur and Fatehpur, near the Sirhind Canal. It is about 5 km from Chamkaur Sahib in the Ropar district. The Gurudwara is easily accessible via a well-connected road leading to the Ropar-Machhiwara route.
